And the West Bengal government has started a dedicated portal called Oasis Scholarship for the students of WB. West Bengal Oasis Scholarship

The Oasis Scholarship portal is run by the Backward Classes Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department, Government of West Bengal. It is a dedicated portal for the scholarship form where the SC, ST, and OBC categories students of West Bengal can get information about the scholarship and they can also apply for the scholarships online.

The portal lists both pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for students who are residents of this WB. The list of scholarships is a Pre-matric scholarship for SC students, a Pre-matric scholarship for ST students, a Post-matric scholarship for SC/ST students, and a Post-matric scholarship for OBC students.

Important Update

According to the new guidelines by the government of India, for Pre Matric and Post Matric SC Students, 40% of the total eligible amount will be disbursed for the first phase, and the rest 60% will be disbursed in due course.

Eligibility Criteria

1.	Pre-matric scholarship for SC students	You must be a permanent resident of the state Students should be of class 9th and 10th and should belong to the SC category. The income of the family per year from all sources must not exceed INR 2 lakhs.
2.	Pre-matric scholarship for ST students	You must be a permanent resident of the state A student must belong to the ST category. Students of class 9th and 10th are eligible to apply. The income of the family per year from all sources must not exceed INR 2 lakhs.
3.	Post-matric scholarship for SC/ST students	You must be a permanent resident of the state Students should be studying at the post-secondary or post-matriculation level and belong to SC/ST category. The income of the family per year from all sources must not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs.
4.	Post-matric scholarship for OBC students	You must be a permanent resident of the state Students should be studying at the post-secondary level and belong to the OBC category. The income of the family per year from all sources must not exceed INR 1 lakhs.

How to Apply For West Bengal Oasis Scholarship?

You can apply for Oasis Scholarship by following the simple procedure given below-:

• First, go to the Official Website
• A homepage will open in front of you.
• Now click on the Student Registration option
• A new page will open on your screen
• After that, you have to choose the district where your institution is located.
• A new page will open in front of you
• After that, you need to enter the details
• After that Verify your caste certificate.
• After completing all the above processes, click on submit.
• Now the registration information will be in front of you.
• Now you can download your permanent user id/application number and password through the “Download login information/acknowledgment slip” option.
• Now you have to log In by entering your application number/user ID and password.
• Once logged in, you need to fill in your further details and bank information carefully.
• After that click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
• Then click on the “Verify and Lock” Option (Note: Once you have locked the information filled, you cannot make any changes further. So, make sure you enter the correct information in the application form.)
• Now for further assistance, click on the download application form option and print your application form.
• Submit it along with all the supporting documents to the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) for the block area and PO cum DWO for the Municipal Corporation.

You can renew your application by following the simple procedure given below: –

• First, go to the Official Website 
• A homepage will open in front of you.
• Now click on Renew Scholarship option.
• After that, you have to log in by entering your application number/user ID and password.
• Now verify your previous details
• Click on the Renew Application option.
• Fill in information about your current academic session.
• Now click on the Renew And Lock Application option. (Note: Once you lock your renewal application, you cannot make a change in any field. So, make sure you enter the correct information in every field.)
• Submit it along with all the supporting documents to the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) for the block area and PO cum DWO for the Municipal Corporation.

• Now Application form will display in front of you.
• You have to fill in all the asked information in this application form like district, municipality, ward, name of school, title, name, father’s name, date of birth, caste, religion, Aadhar number, address, etc.
